41st Engineer's Day Celebrations
147 years ago on this day, Sir M Visvesvaraya was born. In recognition of his monumental services towards national development and for the cause of engineering, he was awarded the country's highest cvilian honour - the Bharat Ratna in 1955. The Institution of Engineers (India), including their local & overseas chapters, observes September 15th every year as the Engineers' day.
A central theme of importance is chosen for delibration on this occasion. The theme for this year is - Planet Earth. We welcome any interested member to delibrate on this with the consent of the executives of the Chapter.

Monday, the 15th September 2008 at 8 pm in Seminar Room, Bahrain Society of Engineers , Juffair.

Painting Competition
As a part of our 20th year celebration - a "Painting Competition" will be conducted on "Engineering Theme", Participating teams are free to choose their theme. Paintings must be submitted to Mr.Sydney Ponniah, coordinator for this competation or to Mr.M.Mahendran
Painting must be in - A3 size Sheet. Participants can paint either with pencil color or water color. Each team can submit two entries, one in paint and another with pencil.
Date & Time of Submission - 6th June 2008 between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
The participating team should comprise two persons, one parent (should be a current IEIBC member) and one child. The contest will be held in the following three groups.
Sub Junior- age 5 to 9 years
Junior - Age 10 to 13 years
Senior - Age 14 to 17 years
The painting should relate to an engineering theme. The artworks will be judged by the panel of judges. Judges decision will be final. Please send an email indicating the names of the participants to us who wish to take part in this competition, indicating the group before 30.5.2008
