This is our 20th year of operation in Bahrain. A milestone that deserves a grand celebration! I solicit your kind and enthusiastic participation in all the contests on the anvil.

Painting Competition
As a part of our 20th year celebration - a "Painting Competition" will be conducted on "Engineering Theme", Participating teams are free to choose their theme. Paintings must be submitted to Mr.Sydney Ponniah, coordinator for this competation or to Mr.M.Mahendran
Painting must be in - A3 size Sheet. Participants can paint either with pencil color or water color. Each team can submit two entries, one in paint and another with pencil.
Date & Time of Submission - 6th June 2008 between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
The participating team should comprise two persons, one parent (should be a current IEIBC member) and one child. The contest will be held in the following three groups.
Sub Junior- age 5 to 9 years
Junior - Age 10 to 13 years
Senior - Age 14 to 17 years
The painting should relate to an engineering theme. The artworks will be judged by the panel of judges. Judges decision will be final. Please send an email indicating the names of the participants to us who wish to take part in this competition, indicating the group before 30.5.2008

Our annual family get-together of our members and their families with Buffet Lunch has been scheduled for friday 9th May 2008 at Golden Tulip (Gilgamesh Ballroom), Diplomatic Avenue from 10:00AM to 2:30PM

Technical Seminar
seminar on "Concrete works in hot & humid condition " by Mr.Hisham Shihaby, Vice President- World Federation of Engineering organization & past president of BSE was conducted on 23rd October 2007 at BSE premises.
This seminar is organized jointly with Bahrain Society of Engineers as the first function to commemorate the 20th year anniversary of our chapter.
Engineers Day Celebration
On behalf of 40th Engineers Day Celebration, Institution of Engineers (India) Bharain Chapter is conducting a "Science & Technology working model contest" on 21st September 2007. A memento was presented to K.Shiva Vishnu Reddy & Shruti Shrikumar Menon of Indian School on 9th June 2007 as a Recognition & Appreciation for achieving highest marks in "Engineering Drawing" of XII Class CBSE Exam.

AMIE Summer 2007 Examinations were conducted from 2nd June 2007 to 8th June 2007 at Indian Embassy premises, Adliya.

seminar on "Bridge Culture " by Dr.V.K.Raina, technical Advisor, Ministry of Works and Housing was jointly organized by BSE and IEIBC on 8th May 2007 at BSE premises.
Annual Get-together
An Annual Get-together was arranged at Phoenicia Hotel on 20th April 2007. Mr.Bhatnagr, first secretary, Indian Embassy, Bharain was invited as Cheif Guest and Mr.Mohammed Khalil al Sayed, president Bahrain Society of Engineers attended the get-together as a Guest of Honour.

seminar on "Pumping System Design and pump Selection " by Mr.Neelkanth, Project Manager, NASS Tech was conducted on 7th April 2007 at BSE premises.
Seminar on "Reliability Engineering"
seminar on "Reliability Engineering" by Mr.Atil Gurhan P.Eng (Canada) from Bapco, Bahrain was conducted on 15th january 2007 at BSE premises.
Site Visit
An Industrial visit to International Laboratory Mina Salman was arranged on 21st December 2006 for the benefits of IEIBC Members.

Engineers Day and Aniversary Day of IEIBC
39th Engineers day and 18th Aniversary of Institution of Engineers India- Bahrain chapter was celebrated on 15th September 2006 at Bahrain Society of Engineers Premises with a Science & Technology Model contest by school childrens.
His Excellency Balakrishna Shetty, Ambassador of India was invited as Chief Guest. Special Guests Dr.S.C.Naik, President IEI Kolkata, CDR A.K.Poothia, Secretary & Director General IEI, Kolkata.
